By Garyl Hany

Is your panic attack usually triggered while you are driving? If so, thinking about this: you are stuck in the middle of nowhere without anyone to help you out and then you notice there is a car with a key on the ignition. What would you do when you notice that it is almost dark and you are already hungry? Will you let your fear dominate you and are you going to conquer it? Without medication and drug, you can survive this situation.

Panic attack is described as a condition of having a sudden blow of compelling fear. It usually comes without any warning and without any clear reason. Compared to anxiety attack or the unpleasant feeling that is normally connected with restlessness, fright, or be troubled, panic attack is far more potent.

Your fear of panic attack might have originated from the idea that it can attack any minute and anywhere, inside your house, car and office. Fortunately, you will notice if it is coming to make you suffer. The sweating and chills are all part of it. Just like you had seen in a horror movie, people will feel someone is coming close to get them. Your anxiety level will accelerate and then panic attack hits. From this statement, you understand that you can stop it before it attacks.

Like the birds listening to the whisper of the wind, listen to the cries of your body. Notice the changes you are having. If you feel the tension is building up, decelerate your car and stop to the closest pit stop. Slowly feel the air on your face and breathe. Take in as much fresh oxygen as you can and take your time. Don't be in a hurry. It is better safe than sorry.

Other than relaxation exercise, boost up and encourage yourself. As creative as you can, tell your mind that nothing can hurt you and someone is protecting you. Never think of negative thoughts. In your car, you have to be positive at all time. If necessary, lie to yourself. Soon, you will convince yourself that you are safe inside your car.

Distraction will keep you occupied if you have difficulty convincing yourself. Listen to two people talking in the radio and then find ways to relate with them. This way you will get too distracted to think about your situation. You can also talk to your friends or family using an earphone. Lastly, you can use a professional CD to encourage you. - 32513
